Turkey-Tail Fungi: up close

 

Turkey-Tail Fungi is a kind of bracket fungi. Usually found on dead or dying trees or stumps. The fungi become decomposers, breaking down the wood and turning it into soil.

The colors are amazing. Found in Herring Run Park, Baltimore, MD. 2012
