Azaleas at the National Arboretum

Spring is the most beautiful time here in the mid-Atlantic states.  All the flowering trees and flowers are in bloom.  It’s a treat for your senses, all the colors and shapes and scents come together for a blast of seasonal dominance. Best of all the blossoms are the azaleas.  Their bloom time is short lived, maybe a month with luck and cool weather. And what a month it is.  The colors are absolutely day-glo, over the top, in your face beautiful.  These photos were taken at the National Arboretum in Washington, D.C.. There is a website for further information:  www.usna.usda.gov

    1. Thank YOU for stopping by. Yes, they’re about 3 week to a month early. Kind of scary, climate-wise, but still lovely to see. The Arboretum has a spectacular collection.
